As far as the eyes can see, there are vast expanses of vineyards which have been there for millennia. But at the heart of the vineyards that produce famous beverages, part of the wooded countryside has been reserved for farming. Divided into different terroirs, Burgundy has been the birthplace of a high variety of products, ranging from mild to very strong. Its eclectic products range from Brillat Savarin to the Bouton de Culotte, the Charolais and of course the famous Epoisses cheese: a soft cheese which bears the name of the village in the Auxois plains where it is produced.
